today.

“...and everything is going to the beat - It's the beat generation, it be-at, it's the beat to keep, it's the beat of the heart, it's being beat and down in the world and like oldtime lowdown and like in ancient civilizations the slave boatmen rowing galleys to a beat and servants spinning pottery to a beat...”

i gots my brain back...i think

Waking up this morning, I'm feeling like myself again. Last night was filled with lovely family dinners and conversations. At least something went my way. Families have a way of making you feel justified again. Make you feel your own self-worth.

Today I'm doing some extreme research to find grants for Seven Venues. It's tough work here and I'm certainly staying busy. But I enjoy the work. I really do. It's somewhat liberating to feel like what you're doing actually matters, actually counts. This summer is the first time I've really enjoyed marketing in a way that's not just school related, but more real-world related. It's nice to have reassurance that I'm in the right major from time to time. Again, I gotta be doing something right.

Off to babysit my chickeees again today. I find the most challenging part of my day to be switching modes so automatically. I go from sitting at Seven Venues strategizing to find federal grants with my fellow intern friends, to getting Barbies shoved down my shirt by Clare, the 3 year old, as she screams MORE MORGIE, MORE BARBIES, YA BIG POOPIE BUTT.

...how I love being called a poopie butt.

just brings me back to the days of my corrupt youth.

even though it's hard to switch into little children mode, who doesn't enjoy blowing bubbles outside in the green green grass...running around with homemade princess crowns adorning our heads... eating unlimite amounts of sticky fruit snacks...reading every book in the nook...

no complaints here.

Sometimes I wish I could go back to my four year old self. I want to crawl inside that little dome of mine and capture whatever it was that made me tick as a kindergartener. Something tells me that pea brain was jammed full of colors and dreams and new ideas on how to bulid a better fort.

I just wish for a day, one day only,  I had no responsibilities, no exaamples to set, no expectations to be met.

I guess growing up is all about what you make of it.

So.

Portsmouth tonight with Jenna and Mich. Can't wait for this very much needed night out on the town. Looking forward to a few fine beers, a few stupid antics, and some quality Thursday night lovin'.

do something weird today.

and have no shame.

it makes the world go 'round.

power to my people,
morgz

PS. My first newsletter was printed today! I've been published! And it feels damn good.

PPS. We just got FREE ALL YOU CAN EAT DIPPIN' DOTS at work today. Life can't get any better.

time to face the world

good morning ya punks.

happy day before the weekend.

As I sit in this office, I want sunshine. I want inspiration. It's pretty darn hard to be inspired in this white walled closet of mine.

thoughts of the day:
-got a shout out at the staff meeting this morning, plastered a smile across my face when Ma'rie, the boss-lady, called me out as Seven Venues official blogger. Let the true nerd inside me shiiiiine her light.
- excited for family in town this weekend. Ready to celebrate with the little graduate.
-i'm craving my leftovers for lunch. right now.

Are our blackberries going out of tune? I want cool apps. I want the newest features. Is it time to get the newest Android. When will we ever catch up? With the technology world moving faster than you can say "yo mama", the everyday US citizen is left in the red dust of it's blazing trail. When will it ever be enough. When will we stop and say, "okay this is it, this is as good as it gets"? I don't beleive we will ever stop. There will always be something better, newer, fresher on the market. To this, I just sigh.

check this little gem of the Thorndike clan my mother just sent me.....ahh the days of sun-in, chords, and surfer-tees...

on a sweeter note, CONGRATS AL! get ready for the next best 4 years.

love, m.

MASTER SAGE RULING THE WORLD

Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerry

enlighten me.

So I know what you're thinking.

Here she goes again.

Writing pointless stories, ranting about pointless events, desperatly trying to capture all those rediculously sugary, innocent, foul, bizzare, and glorious moments that make our complex lives that much more worthwhile.

Judge me.

Go ahead.

I'll smile at you.

And.

I'll keep dancing. Dancing on down this yellow brick road.

I need this.

Because.

Because writing clears my head, keeps my knobby fingers blissfully happy, and lightens my boots. And lord knows we all could use a lighter step in our heavy boots.

So on to the next phase. I'll enlighten you with my ever so enlightening life. And since I can't promise you an enlightning life, I can promise you the world through my eyes, through my weird, crayola colored, sometimes twisted, brain.

Hope you enjoy the ride. I know I am.

keep those hands in the dirt and your heart beating faster,
Morgan
